GOHEEN, Howard - After 63 years of being together, Shirley Goheen had to say goodbye to the love of her life. Howard passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Chapleau Hospital, surrounded by his adoring family. Howard was born in Chapleau 79 years ago. He leaves to mourn his passing, the love of his life, “Shirley” since they were 13 years old. Children: Lila Huard (Joey), late Patricia Ruth (passed after birth), Clifford (Elsie), Debbie (Keld), Jack and Bonnie – predeceased (Rene). Grandchildren; Nadia, Joel, Kim, Lynne, Cory, Sean, late Steven, Samantha, Jacob, Shaylea, Uta, Nicole and Paul. Great grandchildren; Sapphire, Isaac, Ashley, Chase, Meaghan, Jonathon, Kaitlyn, Bailey, Elizabeth, Max, Liam, Ada, Damian, Drayke, Veronica, Zachary, Aiden, Rykey, Amelia, Austin and Emily. Great great grandchildren; Maddie, Aiden and Lilly. He was predeceased by his parents Russell and Ellen Goheen, his sister Barbara Laronde and brothers Fred and Gerry. He leaves behind two sisters Jean Tremblay and Pat Swanson. Numerous other family and friends will dearly miss him as well. Howard lived and worked for CP Rail in Roberts, Esher, Musk, Missanabie, Bolkow and Chapleau from 1953 to 1992. He started at the shops, went to the section and finished his career as Assistant Roadmaster. He was a dedicated member of the Chapleau Oddfellows and handyman extraordinaire and faithful member of St. John’s Anglican Church. Howard was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved being at the family built camp on Goldie Lake (Delmage Bay). A visitation will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #5 on Tuesday January 17, 2017 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday January 18, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. A memorial service will follow at at St. John’s Anglican Church on Wednesday January 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Tom Corston officiating. The pallbearers were Ronald Blais, Mark Mizuguchi, Neil Lackey and Don Maurice. Memorial donations to the St. John’s Anglican Church or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
