To Fay, Mindy and Jay and the Martindale family: Our most sincere condolences to all of you on the passing of our dear friend Peter! While Peter will be sadly missed, we are thankful for having the opportunity to have known him and his family, and to have been a part of his life, creating so many cherished memories together.
I (Derrick) first met Peter, Fay and Mindy when starting a new job with the Ministry of Natural Resources in Manitouwadge in 1982. Peter immediately left an impression as a happy, caring and helpful person. With our shared interests in the great outdoors, we had many adventures together. Most memorable were moose hunting outings to Janet Lake in the fall and rainbow trout fishing trips to the White Gravel River and Nama Creek in the spring.
Also memorable are all of the gatherings our families had over the years, enjoying great meals together and sharing stories of recent adventures and events. These memories will be held close and remain with me always. To quote an Irish proverb: ‘ There are good ships and wood ships, ships that sail the sea, but the best ships are friendships, and may they always be.’
Rest in Peace my Friend!
