Obituary of Norma Rowena Elizabeth Caldwell
CALDWELL, Norma Rowena Elizabeth – It is with profound sadness that the family of Norma Rowena Elizabeth Caldwell announces her passing on Sunday March 19, 2023 at 5:08 a.m. at the Chapleau Health Services.
Norma was born on August 23, 1938 to her parents the late Donald and Gladys White, she was the older sister of Linda White (Dean) and her late brother Bobby White.
On April 17, 1957 Norma married her beloved husband Jack Caldwell. They raised five children together; Trudy, John (Anna), Steven, Joseph (Linda) and Susan. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren; Jacqueline (Stewart), Amanda-Lynn (Phillip), Gregory (Anna), Megan, Courtney (Ed), Alysha (Rob), Rebecca, Kai, her seventeen grandchildren and her great great grandson.
Norma always lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader and believed life was uncertain so eat dessert first (taught to Norma by her late mother). She was a respected and beloved Elder in her community of Chapleau Cree First Nations.
Norma will be dearly missed by all those she has touched with her beautiful smile and compassionate soul.
The family would like to thank the staff and the amazing nurses at Chapleau Health Services for their loving and compassionate care they showed to Norma.
At her request, cremation has taken place at River’s Edge Cremation Centre, Sault Ste. Marie. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Chapleau Cree Band Office (828 Fox Lake Road) on Saturday March 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
