MARTEL, Gary – Passed away peacefully at the Lady Dunn Health Centre on Saturday March 5, 2022 at the age of 70 years.

Predeceased by his wife Liette (nee Bouchard). Gary is survived by his common-law partner Linda Moldovan. Loving father of Lorianne (Alin), Danny (Nikki) and step-father of Melissa (Brian) and Stephen (Sunny). Proud grandfather of Jenna, Brooklynn, Maddie, McKenna and Jaxson. Son of the late Simone and Charles Martel. Dear brother of Antoinette (Fleury), Ernest, Colette (Richard), the late Diane, Suzette (Ralph) and Michel. Loving uncle to Kenny Martel. Gary will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews.

Gary spent all of his life in Missanabie and was a dedicated employee with Canadian Pacific Railway for 37 years as a signal maintainer. He enjoyed trapping, fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends at his brother’s campground.

At Gary’s request, cremation has taken place at River’s Edge Cremation Centre, Sault Ste. Marie. A Celebration of Life and burial will take place in the Spring of 2022. Memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
