I always tell people Chapleau is a friendly place. Leo was a classic example. I remember him offering subway cookies to everyone on the bud car. Join in honoring their life - plant a memorial tree

My deepest sympathies to family and friends. Cousin Leo will always be on my mind. I have had many good times with him being brought up with him in Chapleau. My mother was Aunt Daisey's sister and we lived down the laneway from the family. We spent lots of time together. Holidays, events and just every day moments. Leo was, what I consider, practically a brother to me but that progressed as we aged. I moved away from Chapleau to Sudbury Leo would travel to Sudbury for work. I would get together with him and I always had a great time. When I would visit Chapleau or when I moved back, I remember going to his house and he was so happy and hospitable. A pleasure to be around and just a great guy. Leo will be greatly missed by all your and will hold a place in my heart always.

Hi! Barb here!
I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the family of Leo, the man with the biggest smile!
Leo was very accomodating when I asked if I could leave my kayak on his property by the river. Turns out he had to use it once when he found his boat floating offshore ....he was heading out fishing when he realized he had forgotten something. He quickly returned to shore and in his haste to get back out on the water, he hadn't secured the boat. He told me, with an embarrassed smile, that a rogue wave had dislodged
his boat!?!? He hopped into my kayak and paddled out to retrieve his runaway boat. Must have been quite a sight to see Leo dragging his boat back to shore in a neon yellow kayak! We shared a few laughs and a glass of wine over that one!
Rest in peace, Leo!
