Dear Kathryn, I just recently received the devastating news of George’s passing. George and I were good friends and roommates at McMaster University back in day. Despite the fact that we did not keep in touch much after graduation, I have many, many fond memories of our time together and often thought of him with the intention of one day paying him a surprise visit. I am heartbroken that now will never happen. Fortunately Carman and Dawn Henderson would often bring us up to date as to the “going ones” of the Crichton family and so felt remotely a part of George’s life back in his hometown and camp that he loved so much. I love the picture that you used for George’s obituary as it is the the way I did and want to continue to remember him. The carefree, fun loving man at home in his element. My wife Judy and would like to send our heartfelt condolences to you and the family on your loss. Despite our 40 some year separation, I truly feel his loss as if he was part of my own family.

I will always have fond memories of our dear Uncle George! Our Summer visits to Chapleau as kids were the highlight of our holidays, and George played a huge part in making them so much fun: taking us boating and fishing, playing Eevy-Ivy-Over, telling silly jokes, being a prankster, and always ready to get into some kind of monkey business with us. I am sure today's get-together in his honor conjured up many other great stories and memories of George. I was sorry not to be there to hear them all. Sending my condolences,
With Love,
Tara

George was an amazing outdoorsman and railroader. Had some good times partying at his Mom and Dads home and working with George at the family Fishing Lodge. So sorry to see him go so young. One of Chapleau's finest.

I have fond memories of George from living in Payette's Apt when his house was just down the lane. I saw him the year I was at Laurentian. I then saw him a lot when he worked at Windsor Station in Montreal in the early 70's and he showed me the Operations. Centre. He was a very pleasant person and always had a smile on his face. My sincere condolences to Kathryn and the Family

Uncle George was one of my favourite people to visit as a child. Going “up North” to Chapleau and spending time with him, Aunt Kathryn and Lisi every summer for well over a decade is a favourite childhood memory. Uncle George was a great joker, who loved to give our
treats to his nieces and nephews, make silly jokes, share moose burgers and play eveie-ivy-over at the camp. He knew how to live the good life and my life is better for having known him. Some day, I hope we’ll all get together for another game, George. Much love to Kathryn and Lisi.
