John Rousseau posted a condolence

My family and I have lost a wonderful friend. My son Max was named after Mr. Ostermeier (Mrs. Ostermeier is my son Alex's Godmother). We have many happy memories of long talks, hikes and blueberry picking with the Ostermeiers. My discussions about the world with Mr. Ostermeier often grew heated, but I always learned something from him. He questioned things and would never accept that something was so, just because most people thought so. A handy trait for a lawyer like me to have.
Mr. Ostermeier loved Wawa. When I came up to visit from Southern Ontario, where I live, he talked it up constantly. On the other hand, he had fond memories of his native Germany and was always ready to point out the ways in which it might be better than Canada.
Mr. Ostermeier was one of the most contented people I have met, happy with his life, and I have tried hard to model my attitude towards life on that. One of my role models has passed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Ostermeier and George.
John, Luanne, Maximilian, and Alex Rousseau
